At the heart of Edcon and driving its culture of humility, passion and collaboration, are its two founders, Mr. Edwin Menezes and Mr. Cedric Vaz. Both self-made men, they are the force behind Edcon. Being civil engineers, their involvement in every aspect of their projects is complete. Moreover, their knowledge and expertise in the technical side of construction ensures that every project they undertake is not just aesthetically designed, but of supreme construction quality.

In the year 1995, they started business by mainly taking up contract work for the construction of buildings. They successfully completed a factory project “Himform” in Kundaim Industrial Estate. In the year 1996-97, they built up the entire higher secondary wing of Don Bosco High School in Panjim within a record period of time. This quickly led to successful and much appreciated projects in Candolim, Calangute, Porvorim and Altinho-Panjim.

It was in 1997 that Edcon took up their first ownership project in Bambolim- Alto Santa Cruz, a suburb of Panjim city. The entire project was designed and conceived by the two partners. Edcon Enclave, as the project was christened, turned out to be a beautiful residential complex of 12 apartments with amenities like stilted car park and 24 hr water, amenities which changed peoples expectations from real estate in Panjim forever.

Having built their business from scratch, the partners bring a unique sensitivity and grace to their business. So while they negotiate the travails of developing land and constructing buildings, they never lose sight of the human touch. It is this humility, matched with technical skills, that has helped them garner the kind of respect that land owners and home buyers have for them.
